Gene Harris Gene Harris
Gene Harrisは1933年9月1日、Michigan州Benton Harborに生まれた。9際の頃からピアノを始め、50年代にはトリオを結成して活動した。
1956年から1970年にかけてはThe Three SoundsとしてAndy Simpkins、Bill DuringとWashington D.C.で活動し、Blue Noteレーベル、Verveレコーズに定期的に録音活動を行っていた。
1970年代後半まではIdaho州Boiseへ戻りホテルなどで演奏していたが、1980年代のRay Brownのツアーの誘いなどもあり、復帰することになった。以後はRay Brownのトリオで活動した。
2000年1月16日に腎不全のため亡くなった。
